Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) Program starts Monday, 2/6. This year, the Manor is traveling to outer space to celebrate reading!
Your PARP mission, should you choose to accept it, is:

Read at least 20 minutes WITH A PARTNER every day

Design your own rocketship

Complete a star book review for every book you read

Explore the library with the LIFT Scavenger Hunt
There's so many ways to participate and win! To be eligible for prizes, students must submit their partner reading minutes and emoji finds via Google Form daily.
The primary goal of PARP is to encourage students to read with a partner for 20 minutes a day.
Mission Duration: 10 School Days
The program kicks off on 2/6 with an in-person visit from Seaford author, Cristina Ludwig. Our celebration concludes with an assembly by the Cradle of Aviation Museum, and the announcement of our winners!
GET YOUR ROCKETS
READY FOR LAUNCH!
Each student will receive a blank rocket ship in their PARP guide. We encourage students to be as creative as possible with these! Use a picture of your student for the face (or draw your face), answer the questions, and decorate the rocket to blast off in our main hallway! Please return cut out and completed rocket ships to school by Friday, February 2, 2023.
THIS BOOK IS A STAR:
RATE YOUR READING!
Each student will receive blank star review forms. On each star, students will write the title of the book they’ve read, and rate the book from 1-5 stars. Please cut out stars before returning. Students can then deposit their stars into a classroom collection basket each day. As the stars are collected, they will decorate the main hallway in our school. The class with the most star reviews in each grade will receive a Movie Day with the Principal!

SCAVENGER HUNT
The LIFT team has hopped on board and will lead a scavenger hunt of the library during class time. We'll even be sharing a peek inside the LIFT classroom as we go!
ROCKET SHIPS AND STAR REVIEWS
Each student will receive a Rocket Ship Template and Star Reviews in their PARP Family Guide. We encourage students to submit their star reviews by each day. All submitted star reviews will be added to the decorations in the main hallway. Teachers will have extra star reviews available upon request.
